HWDSB Ward 7 Trustee Candidate
I am a born-and-raised Hamiltonian, of which I have been able to say proudly for 30+ years. While growing up in Hamilton, my family moved around a handful of times, meaning I have had the experience of living in a few different wards across the city and attended my fair share of different schools. I went to elementary school at Parkdale, and later Viscount Montgomery, and ultimately graduated from Sir Winston Churchill Secondary. Following graduation, I spent my only 4 years living outside the city of Hamilton to attend the University of Guelph. After achieving a Bachelor’s degree in Toxicology, I once again returned to the city I call home, now living in Ward 7, and have been here ever since. While working my full-time job, I opted to pursue further education in the form of a Master’s degree in Food Safety.
After this third graduation, I decided to turn my sights on my community. How can I be a better citizen? A better resident? A better neighbour? Historically, much of my spare time had been spent enjoying nature — hiking and camping — so I started there. Volunteering for invasive species removal projects, clean-ups, and similar ventures. Then I began working with local community groups advocating for equity in the face of social injustices. Which ultimately lead me to where we are today.
The brief summary above is just scratching the surface of who I am. If there is anything more you wish to know about me, please do not hesitate to reach out. Your questions, suggestions, feedback, or general curiosities are more than welcome. More importantly, I am eager to listen and hear more about you.
